Can anyone confirm what the total yearly cost of VED on the new T7 Beach will be after the first year?

I don’t think that’s correct. Should be £360 if registered as a motorhome. Parkers have managed to display the wrong rates for earlier years so no reason to think it’s right for the T7

I asked VW Breeze and they haven’t come back to me.
I was thinking £20 as only 20gc02
But more likely £360

360 sounds right, but I think that the campers are still included in the new luxury car tax scheme that runs for the first 5 years. It’s so confusing!

You think wrong! Anything registered as a motorhome is exempt - all taxed at the PLG rate of £360 with no luxury addition.

Don't see why not, hybrid & even 100% electric cars & vans are now the same rates as petrol / diesel

I hope you are right but I think they have added motor homes to it as of April 2025.

No mention of it on the .GOV website, I know from April 2025 Electric cars have to pay it but there's no mention of rules changing for Motorhomes.

The motorhome section of the same document still says £360, & referring to the latest VW price list dated April 2025 it gives the VED as £360

It is £360 for VED but then you have to add the luxury car tax scheme for five years which takes it to 620. If the purchase price is over 40k, so looks like a hefty bill.

Confirmed on the swans way van websites. Think because it is so new, a lot of websites and sources are not up to date. Thanks for the info and checking guys. Expensive but worth it for the memories I suppose

That doesn't add up - the supplement for over £40k is £425 so you would be paying £785 per year.

For the rate to be £620 it would mean you are paying the basic £195 standard car rate + £425 & you've confirmed that you are not, your paying £360 as per the brochure.

I think the .GOV extract that was shown above is still referring to those motorhomes caught before the last set of changes which exempted Motorhomes from the surcharge.

Its £360. It on my order form as £360 and I have questioned it twice - and they still say its £360!

Oh and, it is recorded as Private Light Goods (PLG) - so is exempt luxury car tax.
