I am wondering if I have a faulty fridge.
I am now running at level 4 and the ambient temp in the fridge is circa 6.5c.
I know the weather has been hot but I would want the fridge to be runnning at 5c or below.
Is anyone else seeing this?
To check the temp I have a bottle of water in the fridge and drop a temperature probe in the bottle.

What range can you select?
On my T5.1 it was 5 in Summer 2/3 in depths of winter with a selectable range of 1-10.

I run mine at 3 or 4 year round (T5.1), any more than that and stuff freezes, but i get the impression that T6.1 owners with the digital camper display tend to describe it at 5 or 6. Maybe a different setting threshold for the T6.1 + multivan Cali?
What happens when you run it at level 5? so as long as one of the settings gets it below 5 degrees it is succeeding. It is a thermostat so once set should hold it there unlike a electric camping fridge only cooling to ‘x’ below ambient.

Range is 1-5.
Now running at 5 and is keeping the fridge at about 4 Celsius.
I’m going to drop a temperature probe with a log in the fridge and see what VW say.
It was 13c last night and 25c during the day, so not outrageously hot. I checked the fridge first thing and it hadn’t frozen anything and was showing at 3.6c which may indicate ambient temperature is the not really the cause.
I would love to hear what settings other people are using. My fridge is permanently on using solar panels to top up the battery, which even at setting 5 is taking about 2 hours of bulk charge.

I have this gadget to control the temperature.

I have this gadget to control the temperature.

I have it between 4 and 5 degrees Celsius with outside temperatures of 30-40 degrees Celsius, and the temperature varies between 5 and 8 degrees Celsius. The refrigerator is not a freezer.

Thank you, I have purchased something similar from [SwitchBot](https://amzn.eu/d/3EIl60m) one for inside the fridge and one outside for ambient temperature.
I still think it shouldn’t be running at level 5 to achieve 3.6 a 4.8c.
8c is at the limit to store food and I quite often pop fresh fish in my fridge if I’m out and about so that I don’t have to run home immediately.
I’ll see what VW say when I show them the data from the sensors.

VW class it as a “cool box” and not a fridge. Mine is on constantly and I never have it below level 5 in the summer.

Thank you.
Are you in a T7?
Level 5 is the max setting. My T6 would freeze the contents if you turned it up.
When I spoke to the dealer they said the fridge should be able to achieve 0c.

Yes I have a T7 and setting 5 doesn’t come close to freezing lowest I have had is 3.1 degrees. Might start dropping now ambient temperatures are coming down but definitely not the same as the 6.1 that could freeze on the back wall.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they hadn’t worked on many T7’s and are assuming the fridge in this has a similar spec.
Thanks for the feedback as it looks like mine and yours are similar temps.
