# Aftermarket Carpet for California Ocean Living Area? Unfortunately, VW can’t help they told me today there’s no part number available and it doesn’t appear on their books. I'm wondering: 1. Has anyone sourced an aftermarket or **custom carpet** that fits this area? I’ve done a fair bit of searching and not found anything suitable as yet! 2. Or has anyone used **off-the-shelf rectangular mats** that work? It’d help a lot if someone could share the **dimensions** you used, then I can shop around or cut one myself temporarily. Automotive carpet is available online, you might find somewhere with a suitable size offcut. Then when cut to size & shape search for a local carpet fitter or shop that offers a binding service. Fronts as well, the living area are split in two so you can still move the seat. My used T6 ocean came with an original carpet, that we removed because it was infuriating. It’s made in strips like the one from rugs for bugs, so in theory the tracks are useable but the floor is covered. In practice, the carpet jammed under the seat when moving the bed, the tracks still filled with dirt and the strips were in danger of causing people to trip. As a temporary measure I got two 60x90cm. They cover the floor area when the bench seat is fully back and can be stacked one on top of the other or rolled up when I need to pull the bed forward. They are thin enough to stay in place when opening the underseat drawer or light enough to easily roll back. Cost around £12 each and have lasted five years so far with regular machine washing. I cut a small slit in one to accommodate a tie down point for a dog harness, so there’s no corner lifted to trip anyone when the anchor is in the floor track.
