Just getting prices from the local dealer, DTD and Swansway Liverpool (anywhere else I should try?). Car will be a daily driver so we've gone with the following - any thoughts based on current owners?

Medium blue metallic with black roof
Parking package (I wanted the camera and the auto park is handy)
Tailgate with power latching (I assume this includes the side doors too but either way handy for kids)
Retractable towbar
Climatronic
Heated front seats.

I've currently got heated windscreen on my Skoda but thinking I'll be firing up the parking heater via Bluetooth on cold mornings anyway!

DTD has given a price which is less than a non optioned beach so hoping for a decent deal

I’m not familiar with all the options, but I have the heated windscreen and parking heater on my T6 Beach. In practice I always use the heated windscreen when it’s icy, so if I were buying I’d definitely add the heated windscreen. Also, not sure if heated steering wheel is an option, but I would add that too if buying new.

It is (and we have it currently) but it's not a cheap option as it includes the paddles as well which I don't need

So where on your options list is the parking heater?

Another member with the beach T7 has confirmed that the parking heater is included (it's also on the spec sheet) but you need to use the app via Bluetooth to fire it up

You can switch it on via the central control unit as well.

Regarding the tailgate with power latching; I can confirm this does not include the side doors - solely the tailgate.

Interesting and thanks! It seems odd that you can't specify the power latching side doors given they seem to be standard with the coast we test drove! Will probably keep the option anyway given how little it costs, just need to get my 12 year old into pulling the doors a bit harder!

Is this the water heater for the engine to be used before/as you drive off or the air heater for continuous use for camping or both?
UK has items as standard that are optional elsewhere, so it may well be included, but you should make sure because VW manage to be extraordinarily confusing when it comes to this topic.

Both I believe - you're spot on re the very confusing spec and I don't trust the dealers either so have gone with actual owners on here to confirm - seems the most reliable source!

Yes it’s an option on the Coast, and standard on the Ocean, but sadly not even an option on the Beach for some reason. It’s a shame as well as would be a really useful option in hindsight in my opinion; you really have to slam them quite hard from the inside to get them to properly close at night!

I can’t believe that the UK Beach will come with the overnight parking heater as standard on the Diesel model. VW UK are never that generous.

I’ve just checked the latest Brochure and it’s showing as an £1800 option.

I would get it in writing from the supplying dealer that it is included if that’s what you’re expecting, I wouldn’t want you to be disappointed after waiting for it to be built.

Ok picked up my Beach from dealer 2 weeks ago. It was a stock vehicle so I didn’t have any say on factory-fitted options, but the spec closely matched my minimum demands.

Expected - parking heater, comes as standard (covered in other threads, the VW £1800 option, which mine came with, has the remote key. Not sure what the more expensive option offers on top, so if anyone could clarify then great).

Dealer was certain rear view camera and front/rear sensors come as standard on UK Beach, so unless you want Park Assist (never used it in any of my previous vehicles) then I’d skip that option.

Wasn’t bothered about lack of towbar cos I don’t tow or carry bikes, but as T7 won’t take a tailgate rack then probs a must-have.

Unexpected - bendy lamp for upstairs (plugs into a 12v socket with trailing wire so will probs be mothballed until resale time).

No satnav as standard! Gobsmacked doesn’t cover it. Was suggested that with Apple CarPlay/Android etc most now use Maps/Waze etc. I don’t. So bought the lifetime download via the Shop app £500-ish. Process was painless enough and seems to provide same functionality as Discover Pro incl map on digital cockpit, at a discount to the factory option.

Otherwise I’d say it’s a cracking vehicle that satisfies an ex-6.1 Ocean owner with now Uni-age children who have outgrown overnight ventures. Go for it and enjoy it for what it is!

Agree with most of this from my experience (have had a factory ordered T7 Beach since June).

Only point I would comment on is that I’d question the dealers certainty on rear view camera being standard on a Beach. My understanding from when I spoke with the dealer (when deciding options) was that front/rear sensors are included as standard but not the rear view camera. The brochure seems to reflect this also but I guess the dealer could have just been citing the info in the brochure.

In the end I opted for the Advanced Parking Package, mainly for the added benefit of a 360 parking view so couldn’t say conclusively.

Thanks all - the brochure is pretty clear on the lack of rear cam which is a must for me so I didn't take the risk.

On the parking heater it's in the brochure as standard and confirmed on here by quite a few people. The basic stock one in my local dealer had it too.

In the end I've added the heated windscreen but the heated steering wheel forced the travel assist pack which made it a very expensive option so I've skipped that.

Just waiting for Mrs H to have one last look at the Florida blue on Friday and then we'll push the button!

I went for a few options on a MY22 Coast that I plan to keep long term (heated seats, electric screen, tow bar, additional rear aircon, mud flaps, larger fuel tank etc. A van I used while it was being serviced had blind spot indicators + I thought these were really helpful + would have got them if I’d known it was a useful option.
