Anyone else being called by their dealer to have the software update applied “due to battery issues”?
Clearly VW now think they’ve got a fix, which is good to know.

Our Ocean phev 4motion arrived at the dealer last week.
We were due to take delivery on Tuesday, but.......
When the dealer charged the traction battery and then unplugged it, the display reported cable still attached and it could not be driven.
We await further info from them.
Integration of the possible charging configurations for the various batteries is no doubt a problem with these vehicles.
how many options are there for charging the starter battery?
Alternator/EHU Charger/Regen from Motor~Gen/DC-DC from Traction Battery.
Does anybody know?

My ocean went in today for the update there seems to be issues with insulation. It has been with the dealer all day hopeing they can upload it by tomorrow. They have been very helpful by lending me a car to get me home .

Got mine (Ocean diesel) back today after 3 days being “fixed”.
It required a new ecu before the SW recall could be uploaded ( as I have been told was necessary by 2 other dealers on at least some vans).
My van also displayed “charging cable connected” every time the engined fired up.
I had VW customer support ring me while it was at the garage saying that my van was subject to a recall (didn’t listen to well as it was in the process of being updated - but thought she said it was to do with stop/start ?).
On picking up the van the tech manager said all recalls had been done on my van.
I will be keeping an eye on the batteries for a while yet.

Well, yesterday, 24hrs after the SW recall, both batteries were at 100%.
Today the engine batt is at ~ 50% (11.9v) and the leisure batt at around 70% !!

I have checked and nothing was left on to draw power.

So still issues it seems.

After some investiagtion of posts on here it seems that considerable 12v Veh battery drain can occur on entrance and exit via the drivers door in particular and in use of the infotainment screen. I did both those things last evening in trying to get the van set up with VW connect via the ""Users" menu. I failed in that as there is no Users section!
So maybe the V drop was due to my activities doing that.
I have put it on charge and will monitor just via getting in the sliding door.
Can anyonen confirm that battery drain is minimised if left in "Camping mode" while parked?

In may 2025 we bought a new California Beach Tour Diesel. In july we had a lot of problems with both batteries. After that VW made a software update but they didn't finish it and from then we have a lot of problems with the 2 batterie.
Sinco 8 weeks out new car is at the VW garage and nobody knows how to solve this problem.
It's terrible.

Similar story on Ocean TDI.

Software update failed and corrupted system. Replaced main control unit and still had error codes. After 8 weeks in the garage, with no resolution in sight, I decided to reject the vehicle (as allowed under UK consumer law).
