Unless you have the data pack, which is not usually free or included, no. If you do, yes, but... The price of the data packs from VW is crackers. It's quicker, easier, cheaper and simpler to use your phone data. They use cubic and the charges quite high. Maybe. With a small router you can use any sim free plan you like, GiffGaff are o2 for instance and cost effective here (a tenner for 25GB) and abroad for data (5 of your 25 included). Unlimited high quality 5g (I've tried all the others and they are worse) Inc European roaming for a sticker price of £42 a month. Deduct 18.99 as it includes Netflix premium and you're down to 23, then with some negotiating they will knock it down further and include a second SIM you can gift data to... Don’t know if the Ryoko seems to good to be true at £9.99 a month plus the router cost of about £40. Also fit in my pocket for hiking and mountain biking where I often loose signal. Is it 5G dual-band? There is a huge gulf between 4G and 5G speeds. Good 4G is sufficient for most things, however when in poor coverage areas, I strongly getting a router that covers 4G and 5G. The other advantage of that old Three router is that I can plug my laptop in via cable for more stability, rather than relying on wi-fi. It is also Wi-fi 6 - so better bandwidth than many pocket-sized routers. Horses for courses I guess. Coverage & speed is usually better than cellular. I got a Mini dish for ~240 Euro and keep it fed with 4 Euro / month standby package that gives 1Mbit unlimited. If I need to drive then I just activate 1 month tariff (100GB for ~40 Euro these days) and then switch back to Standby. ---
